Rue Melo, a fierce, young and multilingual songstress, will take the stage for an acoustic set at the Gibson Guitar Celebrity Gifting Suite, as part of the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards festivities. She is scheduled to perform this Saturday, September 6 at 1:00 p.m. at the Roosevelt Hotel.

Rue Melo's live show includes guitarist Claudio Tomasello, bassist Bryan Bush, and drummer Idris al-Mutazz Tate and together they produce a unique sound that touches popular, world and urban music. Her debut self-titled album was released late last year and boasts tracks in Spanish, French and English. She recently opened for Fergie and Flo-Rida at Sunfest in West Palm Beach, FL, for Ozomatli at the Hard Rock Vegas and appeared on Dave Navarro's Spread TV.

The Gibson Lounge is a two day musical event & Celebrity Gifting Suite displaying the newest and trendy fashions, beauty and music. It will feature a variety of musical acts that will be rocking their sounds “Live” at the famous Roosevelt Hotel suite 100.
