Seattle, WA / April 7, 2010 – Steelo will perform to open the MEGA Rally in support of immigration reform, on Saturday, April 10th at 11:30 a.m. at Occidental Park, located on Occidental Ave South (between South Main St & South Washington St) in Seattle, WA.

The rally is expected to attract over 5,000 people from throughout the state and is organized by The Washington Immigrant Rights Coalition (WIRC), an alliance that includes over 50 organizations including the youth-led Washington Dream Act Coalition, to support comprehensive immigration reform.

GosaLife will provide the pre-rally entertainment starting at 11:30am and Steelo, a Seattle-based R&B/hip-hop group that released their album “Music” on June 16, 2009, will debut a new song written in support of the immigration reform cause during the performance.

Jorge Baron, executive director of the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project and Lua Pritchard, commissioner of the Commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs will MC the rally and it will also include the following speakers:

Rep. Mike Honda, D-California, Chairman of the Congressional
Asian Pacific American Caucus
Dow Constantine, King County Executive
Pramila Jayapal, Executive Director, OneAmerica
Cecile Hansen, Duwamish Tribal Chair
Mike Gempler, Washington Growers' Association
Carlos Padilla, DREAM Act student, Grassroots Organizer, WDAC

Steelo has also appeared on the 2009 National Sneaker Pimps Tour, the largest traveling hip hop lifestyle and sneaker exhibition in the world, sponsored by Xbox and Verizon Wireless, at Seattle Fashion Week and at a BMI showcase at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood, which aired as part of a special on NBC Mun2’s “One Nation Under Hip Hop.”
